ABOUT US

PRIMAVENTO

Primavento is a family winery located in the Elqui Valley, Coquimbo Region, Chile. It was founded in 2013, inspired by the legacy of our Italian ancestors, who were dedicated to winemaking in the region of Las Marcas.

Belonging to the Porfiri Trivelli family, the project was conceived with the idea of planting vineyards toward the summits of the family estate, which since 1985 has been focused on the production of table grapes and pomegranates for export.
After several soil studies at Fundo La Primavera, and taking advantage of the discovery of an important calcareous vein —ideal for producing high-quality wines— the planting of micro vineyard plots began, taking into account the qualities of the soil, mostly clay-loam in composition.

Primavento comes from the Italian primo vento, which translates into Spanish as “first wind.” With this name we refer to the terral: a warm wind that blows in the mornings in this area of the Elqui Valley and creates exceptional conditions for viticulture, preventing spring frosts.

PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is to create wines of excellence through an integrative and respectful vision of the environment. Our terroir, located in the town of Diaguitas, Elqui Valley, provides us with all the necessary elements for the creation of wines marked by their origin.

We believe in minimal-intervention agriculture, which allows us to obtain the maximum quality potential from our grapes. We look at the vineyard as a living organism, which through biological corridors allows the free movement of local fauna, while maintaining a balanced ecosystem.
